Callaway, MD (August 13, 2020) – Around 6:02 a.m. yesterday, August 12, a man was killed in a fatal crash at an intersection in Callaway.

According to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, the accident took place at the intersection of Piney Point Road and Take It Easy Ranch Road. Through their initial investigation, they discovered that 73-year-old Joseph Quade was operating a Chevrolet pickup truck and making a turn from Piney Point onto Take It Easy Ranch. His vehicle was suddenly struck by a Toyota SUV operated by 33-year-old Andrew Rogers.

Joseph and his passenger, 79-year-old John Quade, were both flown to hospitals in Washington, D.C. with serious injuries after being extricated from their vehicle. At the hospital, Joseph Quade tragically succumbed to his injuries.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time while police cleared the scene.
